6-d: thematic painting reflection:march 5,2013
1. I think I had good strokes,and I used a lot of colors.
2. I think I rushed into wiolet too quickly, I should have laid out my colors first.
3.The theme is the future, I used a graduatiion cap to represent that affect. the unity is how all of the colors tied together. I did that because I want the person looking at the painting to know that graduation is my future goal.
4.My major colors are blues, reds, violets, oranges, and yellow.I used the colors because I wnted the sky to flow into the water to look like a sunset.
5. I used tints of white in the blue water. The light areas are the water and the yellow in the sunset. The dark values are in the top of the sun set (violets) and the graduation cap, wich is black.
6.I learned that it is best to try an idea on a scratch paper when it comes to mixing paints to get a specific color. And to try out the way you want to layer your colors. I also learned that painting is fun and that you learn a lot about the ways objects look at different angles.
7.I had a plan and I changed it at the last minute. I knew that i wanted to use the future as my theme so I choses a goal i have for my future. I the decided to take a saying that people use a lot, riding off into the sunset, and turned it into a painting idea. i laid out my water and put in the detail.then I laid out my sunset before painting my graduation cap.
8. I think this is a worthwhile project because you can lean a lot from it. I think it would be more fun to use a different kind of pain and maybe try another kind of material to paint.
